Maranta leuconeura var. erythroneura 'Red prayer plant'
Maranta leuconeura var. erythroneura 'Red prayer plant' is native to the tropical forests of Central and South America. It is also known as a Prayer Plant as their leaves move and fold with the light.
Light: Bright to low indirect light. Can tolerate lower light but thrive in medium light. No direct sun.
Water: Water when the soil is about 25% dry or less (about an inch). Calathea/Maranta can be fussy with tap water and may require filtered, distilled, or rainwater if you have hard tap water. You will notice browning edges if your tap water is too hard.
Repotting: Repot into a nutrient rich, moisture retentive soil. It is best to repot into glazed ceramic or plastic pots to help retain moisture. If repotting into unglazed clay or terra cotta, keep a close eye on watering.
Pet-Safe: Yes 100% non-toxic.
