Hypoestes are native to Madagascar and are low-growing, bushy plants that do best with some humidity (they're great in terrariums!) They'll also do best with bright, indirect light, but can tolerate a medium indirect or even low. Water thoroughly when the top couple of inches have dried out, about every 5-7 days. They will burn with too much direct sun or underwatering, resulting in brown spots on the leaves and are also non-toxic.
