Native to Australia, Asia and Africa these epiphytic ferns prefer high humidity and indirect bright light. As the fern matures it will produce a shield frond, a round thick leaf at the base of the plant that protects the roots. This shield frond will start out green but eventually brown, this is natural and does not mean your plant is unhappy, do not cut it off! Mist frequently, and allow the top 1/4 of the soil to dry before thoroughly watering.
