Aspidistra elatior 'Cast Iron Plant' is native to Japan and Taiwan. It is also known as Bar Room Plant due to its tolerance to very low light levels and neglect.
Light: Bright to low indirect light. Can tolerate very low light, but thrives in bright light. No direct sun.
Water:Water when the soil is about 75-100% dry. Leaves will begin to curl in and/or droop.
Repotting: Repot into a nutrient rich, chunky soil. You can add orchid bark, gravel, LECA, perlite, rice hulls, etc into a regular potting mix. If repotting into a glazed ceramic or plastic pot, you won’t need to water as often as the pot will retain moisture. Terra cotta or unglazed ceramic is sometimes better to allow more airflow to the soil.
