Sedum ‘Little Missy’ is a charming, low-growing succulent with tiny variegated leaves—pale green with pinkish edges. It’s popular as a groundcover in containers, rock gardens, or as a decorative indoor plant. Fortunately, it’s super low-maintenance.
Here’s how to care for it:
☀️ Light
-
Bright, direct light is best.
-
Outdoors: full sun to partial sun (morning or filtered afternoon sun).
-
Indoors: near a south- or west-facing window. Supplement with grow lights if needed.
-
-
Without enough light, it may become leggy and lose its compact shape.
💧 Water
-
Drought-tolerant – follow the “soak and dry” method.
-
Water thoroughly, then let soil dry out completely before watering again.
-
-
Indoors: when leaves start to thin and wrinkle, every 14 days or so (less in winter).
-
Avoid overwatering—this is the #1 killer of succulents.
🪴 Soil
-
Needs a well-draining mix:
-
Use cactus/succulent soil or mix regular potting soil with perlite, pumice, or coarse sand (at least 50%).
-
-
Ensure the pot has drainage holes.
🌡️ Temperature & Humidity
-
Hardy to about 20°F (-6°C) but may go dormant or lose leaves in frost.
-
Prefers temperatures between 60–85°F (15–29°C).
-
Tolerates dry air—no humidity boosts needed.
🌱 Growth & Maintenance
-
Grows as a mat-forming creeper—great in shallow pots, hanging baskets, or as a “spiller.”
-
Prune to control spread or remove leggy growth.
-
Very easy to propagate: just press a leaf or stem cutting onto soil and it’ll root.
🌸 Flowers
-
Produces tiny pink or white blooms in summer.
-
Not the main attraction, but cute and delicate when they appear.
